Jonathan Simpson
Professional Biography
Jonathan Simpson has extensive experience in all areas of serious crime acting almost exclusively for the Defence but chosen for the Attorney-General’s list in 2005.
As well as appearing in the Crown Court and Court of Appeal he regularly appears in Courts-Martial cases in the UK and overseas covering the full range of criminal offences.
He regularly appears in cases of large-scale drug offences and cases of serious violence including manslaughter, attempted murder and rape. He has appeared in many cases in the Central Criminal Court and often without a Leader.
He has a particular skill of dealing with young defendants or those suffering with serious mental health difficulties who are often involved in cases of a sexual or particularly sensitive nature.
As well as serious crime he has experience in the Coroner’s Court, Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal and Police Disciplinary Tribunals.
